Site Building with Drupal - Cologne

In two days, participants will be brought up to speed on Drupal and will be ready to tackle their own project. The training includes an introduction to Drupals' basic modules generally used. It will enable you to assume a role as "Drupal administrator" or "Drupal developer".

Learning Goals

+ Know how to use the block system and taxonomy to organize content
+ Be able to create custom pages, blocks, and RSS feeds on your site
+ Have created a photo gallery and an automated Workflow
+ Set up a Calendaring system
+ Know how to make custom content types (CCK)
+ Use Views, blocks and taxonomy
+ Install and integrate modules

Course Format

The course is a two days course with a mixture of lecture, demonstrations, exercises and workshop time.

Participation Fee

Fee includes refreshment drinks, lunch and materials. A workstation will be provided (Apple OS X); you are welcomed to bring your own laptop.

Intended Audience

This course is suitable for users who want to broaden their Drupal skills. Basic knowledge such as mediated in Drupal in a Day is necessary. The training particularly addresses participants who want to expand an existing site with new features.

Prerequisites

Participants should be familiar with basic Drupal content management and administrative tasks. If you are not familiar with these concepts, it is recommended you take Drupal in a Day prior to this course. Furthermore a solid understanding of web technology and content management is necessary.

The base system used for all training is Drupal 7. Training material will be provided in German, but might be accessible only after the training. All trainings are hold by German native speakers.
